Position Description:
The successful Scientific Sales Representative will be responsible for driving new business through the sale of Simulations Plus’ portfolio of software products (emphasis on the cheminformatics tools) and consulting services.
Responsibilities:
The Scientific Sales Representative will be responsible for managing, and directly interacting with, a select group of domestic and international prospect and customer pharmaceutical accounts for the purpose of accelerating their conversion and reorder sales growth. Additional responsibilities will include: prospect acquisitions, product needs assessments, Internet and on site product and sales presentations, show exhibits, building client rapport and networks, account and marketing database management, market and business research, development of marketing and promotion materials, and competitor intelligence and analysis.
This position reports to the Director, Marketing & Sales, but may assist the Life Sciences group with certain activities. Frequent travel (50%) required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Science, Engineering, or other related discipline
- 1-3 years of successful sales experience within high-tech or pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of QSAR modeling, medicinal chemistry, and data mining/molecule design a plus (especially as it applies to critical issues in drug discovery)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates and communicates a positive, customer service attitude while interacting with clients at all levels
- Must be able to multitask and have strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
